8-一定要當面向上師懺悔才算嗎？

問：《掌中解脫》有提到，對上師犯下過失後，如果上師還在世，應該親自到上師的面前誠心懺悔；如果上師已經往生，必須在上師的法衣面前作懺悔。請問，是否一定要用這種方式懺悔？

答：

不一定。如果能當面懺悔，對於淨除依師方面的罪業可能會有特別的幫助，但這不表示若沒有當面懺悔，罪業就無法淨除。
